At Cornell Farms we have been selling locally produced natural beef products direct to consumers for over 40 years. In 1996 we started selling at local farmers’ markets and have continued to expand and develop our product line.
We have found that the consumer is increasingly emphasizing their desire for more naturally raised beef products and we try to supply this need by:
- treating our animals with care;
- by not using fed antibiotics or growth implants in our animals; and,
- by using only natural grains and forages in their diet.
Our motto is “From Our Gate to Your Plate”. Please visit the links listed below for more information about Cornell Farms' Consumer Products:

The addition of grain in our cattle feed, helps the cattle mature early enough to make their meat tender and flavourful. We have adapted our feeding program to reflect today’s concerns about dietary fat and, therefore, do not over-fatten our cattle.
All our meat is butchered, cut and wrapped in provincially inspected facilities. Our grain-finished product is dry aged for 14 days. During this time the meat’s natural enzymes act as a tenderizer and add flavour to the meat.
Cornell Farms beef is naturally wholesome, tender and flavourful. It provides our beef customers with a consistently great dining experience every time whether it is a t-bone steak on the BBQ or a tender juicy prime rib oven roast.
We sell our grain finished beef two ways – side of beef and beef paks (split side). For more beef information, view these files:
Side of Beef

All of the processed products that we sell at farmers’ markets in Northwestern Ontario are grass-fed beef products. Grass-fed beef is the beef from cattle which live the entire Summer on pasture, free to roam and graze as they please. During the Winter, they eat only hay.
While grain-finished is the norm in North America, there are still many regions worldwide where that isn't the case. For example, in Argentina all meat is grass-fed.
Grass-fed beef produce a very lean product high in omega-3 and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), two components reputed to have significant health benefits. |
